French driving laws have changed, all vehicles driven in France, including vehicles registered outside of France, MUST have one Hi-Viz reflective jacket, one warning triangle in their vehicle and a set of spare bulbs. The reflective jacket has to conform to EU standard and must be inside the car – not in the boot. On the spot fines varying between 90€ and 135€ will apply. It is compulsary for drivers of all motor vehicles to have a breathalyser kit in their vehicle whilst travelling in France. Drivers who do not have a breathalyser kit in their vehicle will be fined an on the spot fine of 11€. The breathalyser has to be certified by the french authorities showing an NF number.
